In 2001, Dru Castro made the leap of faith and began engineering full time in the booming Atlanta R&B and Hip-Hop music scene. Bryan Michael Cox, Anthony Dent and Tricky Stewart were business acquaintances who offered Dru his first opportunities.

In early 2010, Dru won his first Grammy for co-producing, with India.Arie, India's "Pearls" single, sung with her and Dobet Guahore, for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.

Dru remixed Michael Franti's smash hit, "Say Hey (I Love You)" for Urban radio. It's all over the world and is a breakout smash hit! Dru also remixed Anjulie's single, "Rain" for Urban radio!

Currently, Dru just completed writing and producing the sensational pop artist, Missy Modell. He just completed working with John Brown for Universal/Republic.

In a short span of seven-plus years, Dru was worked with India.Arie, Musiq Soulchild, Usher, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, T-Pain, Jamie Foxx, Trina, Raven Symone, Joe, Kelly Rowland, Stacie Orrico and Keri Hilson. In addition, Dru has also worked on 7 Grammy Nominated albums in his career. That's one per year!

In May of 2006, Dru opened The Music House Studios with fellow Atlanta engineer and friend Alec Newell. The opening of "The Music House" was the fulfillment of a life-long dream. The 6,800 square foot facility features two separate studios in a warm, cozy, private environment with state-of-the-art equipment. Many artists, including Keyshia Cole, Usher, Ciara, New Kids on the Block and Nelly, have enjoyed the complete privacy offered by The Music House.

In June 2006, Dru produced his first major label album project, Testimony Volume 1: Life and Relationships, for India.Arie, which later became a #1 album. He also produced and co-wrote the upbeat "I Choose" as well as the more reflective "This Too Shall Pass". These were followed in July 2008 with the production of the single entitled "Radio" on Musiq Soulchild's fifth CD release, On My Radio (Atlantic Records). In February 2009, Dru co-produced a second India.Arie, Testimony Volume 2: Love and Politics (Universal/Motown). Castro co-produced and recorded 12 songs with India.Arie, including the singles, "Chocolate High" and "Therapy."

Currently, Dru had a #1 single on Billboard's Urban A/C charts with K'Jon's smash "On The Ocean" single which Dru co-produced and mixed.
